Homemade crispy and crunchy fried chicken recipe

Ingredients:

  • Chicken pieces (drumsticks, thighs, breasts, etc.)
  • Buttermilk
  • Flour
  • Salt and pepper
  • Paprika (optional)
  • Garlic powder (optional)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 1 hour, or overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. In a shallow dish, mix together flour, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder (if using).
  3. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Dredge each chicken piece in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  5. Carefully place the coated chicken into the hot oil, a few pieces at a time, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
  6. Fry the chicken for about 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Remove the fried chicken from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
