Ingredients:
- Chicken pieces (drumsticks, thighs, breasts, etc.)
- Buttermilk
- Flour
- Salt and pepper
- Paprika (optional)
- Garlic powder (optional)
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
- Marinate the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 1 hour, or overnight in the refrigerator.
- In a shallow dish, mix together flour, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder (if using).
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Dredge each chicken piece in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- Carefully place the coated chicken into the hot oil, a few pieces at a time, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Fry the chicken for about 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the fried chicken from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot and enjoy your delicious homemade crispy and crunchy fried chicken!
